About Pain Killer
Painkillers (also known as analgesics) are medications used to alleviate or manage pain, ranging from mild discomfort to severe chronic pain. They work by interrupting pain signals in the nervous system or reducing inflammation that causes pain. Painkillers can be broadly categorized into several types:
Non-opioid Painkillers:
- Acetaminophen (Paracetamol): Commonly used for mild to moderate pain, such as headaches or muscle aches. It’s gentle on the stomach and has few side effects when used appropriately.
- Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): These include ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen. NSAIDs not only relieve pain but also reduce inflammation, making them effective for conditions like arthritis, menstrual pain, or muscle injuries.
